In thinkorswim®, gadgets, tabs, subtabs, layout sections, etc., can be opened individually in detached windows. Detached windows can be managed after enabling Window Manager.
1. To enable Window Manager, click Setup in the upper right of thinkorswim®, then click Display and enable the Detached windows manager checkbox.
2. To detach any window, e.g., a gadget, click the Detach window 
3. To manage detached windows, locate the thinkorswim® app 
- On Windows, in the system tray.
- On macOs, in the status menu. Note that the icon may not display if the app threshold number has been reached.
4. Right-click the app icon (left-click on Mac) to reveal the following menu items:
- Minimize all. Hide all windows. Hidden windows are available on the taskbar or dock. Note that windows can only be minimized if no configuration dialog is open.
- Restore all. Display all minimized windows.
- Open order ticket. Open the Order Entry tool in a detached window.
- Lock application. Lock the current session. To unlock the application, click on the app icon again, choose Unlock application, and re-type the password.
