Times and Sales is a thinkorswim® gadget that provides in-depth data for a selected instrument. It shows records for the trades most recently reported on national exchanges or venues. The records include time, price, and trade size. Like all other gadgets, Times and Sales can be displayed in the left sidebar or in a separate window (see the Left Sidebar page for more details).
In the gadget header, you will see the following elements:
- Symbol selector box. Type a symbol or use the arrow icon to browse and select one from the drop-down. The gadget will display the instrument's name, current market price, and percentage and absolute change the previous day’s close.
- Symbol link. Click the clip icon to open a color-and-number selection menu. Choosing a color in this menu will link Times and Sales to all thinkorswim components using that color.
Tip: Consider linking Times and Sales to a watchlist so that clicking through the latter will immediately display the corresponding symbols in Times and Sales. - Symbol actions. Add the selected instrument to a watchlist, create a thinkLog note, assign a color combination, or open More info to view additional data, create alerts, or place trades.
After a symbol is selected, the gadget displays the trade records sorted by trade time (newest first). Be default, it also shows the price and volume of each recorded trade in real time.
You can filter the records by trade size. Click the header of the Size column and select the desirable size range from the drop-down. You can also specify a custom range by clicking Customize Size Filter in this drop-down.
You can customize the columns displayed in the Time and Sales gadget:
- Right-click a column header and select Customize… to open a dialog window.
- In the All columns section, select the desired columns and click Add.
- Click OK to save the changes and add the selected columns.
In the Times and Sales gadget, the exchanges are named using a one-letter code. The full list of codes can be found here.
